CASE STUDIES / SOL DE JANEIRO × SWEETER
2,000+ attendees. A relationship beyond the pop-up.
For Sol de Janeiro’s Sol Summer pop-ups in SoHo and Williamsburg, the registration experience needed to feel like part of the brand—and keep working after guests left.
The experience
Working with experiential agency Sweeter, comethru supported two New York pop-ups with a custom branded registration journey. Guests could register before arriving or while waiting in line, bringing advance sign-ups and on-site arrivals into the same flow.
From registration to arrival
Apple and Google Wallet passes gave guests a branded pass to keep on their phones. At the door, the team could validate guests and follow check-in activity while the activation was running. The two events served more than 2,000 attendees, with an average of 157 guest check-ins per hour.
An audience the brand could reach again
The registration flow captured first-party guest information and an explicit SMS marketing choice. A 92% SMS opt-in rate gave the brand a permission-based channel for continued communication. Wallet updates added another way to keep the experience present on guests’ phones.
What to take into your next pop-up
Plan registration, arrival, and follow-up together. Make the form match the campaign, support guests joining from the line, and distinguish registration details from permission to send future marketing. Check-ins and opt-ins answer different questions; measure both.
